JLL IC300 PRO Indoor Cycling Exercise Bike First Impressions

JLL are a reputable, leading brand. They are one of the biggest fitness equipment suppliers in the world and are well known for their innovation and build quality, and their most recent upgrade to the iconic IC300 comes this highly versatile and robust PRO edition.

The IC300 PRO is a premium model with a reasonable price tag to match. It certainly looks the part with its stylish design and wouldn’t look out of place at your local fitness suite. Like all JLL products, quality, safety and value for money remain the focal point. So let’s take a look at the specs.

First off, it has four stabilisation knobs under the stabilisers, ensuring a safe ride even if you aren’t on a perfectly level surface.

JLL has also accommodated taller riders with its 131 x 51 x 112cm (LWH) size – a much larger footprint when compared to other spinning bikes on the market. Taking their design a step further, the sturdy frame can also support a max weight of 130kg. But that in itself comes with its own set of limitations.

But in terms of offering a broad range of support for beginners to high-octane riders, the JLL is a robust and capable machine. What’s more, it’s easy to transport so you can exercise wherever and whenever you like around your home. It’s not light, though. Weighing in at 45kg and sporting a broad base, you won’t be able to move it on your own.

Intuitive assembly

Considered overall one of the most straightforward indoor exercise bikes to set up, you’ll have your IC300 PRO ready to go in no time. Even with the incredibly helpful online setup video and ample instructions, assembly is remarkably intuitive.

From opening the box to full assembly, set up takes no longer than 20 minutes. The only curveball you may encounter is the weight of the box. Coming in at around 49kg, you may require extra help to move the box to where you want it prior to assembly.

JLL IC300 PRO is Top of its class

Performance is one of the JLL IC300 PRO’s biggest selling points. First off, it has a two-way 20kg flywheel, which is 2kg heavier than the previous model. With it, you get a wider range of resistance that will challenge the most seasoned riders. What’s more, the flywheel is bi-directional. So you can focus on different muscle groups depending on where you position it: forward for quads and backwards for hamstrings and glutes.

To keep an eye on all your progress, the IC300 PRO features a 7-function pro monitor. There you can view calories, distance, time, odometer, RPM, pulse and more, keeping you motivated and focused or switching up your routine to maximise your workout

In lesser machines, working out to the max usually means loud whirring from the belt drive and a few token words from your family and neighbours. But with this bike, the innovative minds at JLL have created a clever belt drive system that provides a smooth and quiet ride.

Equipped with magnetic resistance, this spin bike requires minimal maintenance as there are few parts and components running together. You simply adjust the resistance by turning the knob, allowing you to increase the intensity of your workout. The only slight downside is that there are no visible levels to choose from, but the more you use your bike, the more familiar the levels will become.

JLL IC300 PRO is Comfortable and adjustable

Long term fitness goals are typically more achievable with comfortable equipment. Thankfully, JLL knows this all too well and have designed a trim seat with a centre cut out to minimise chaffing and ensures breathability. It’s also comfortably padded!

As well as basic comfort, this bike offers one of the best adjustment features to suit riders of all shapes and sizes. You essentially get a bespoke riding position for shorter and taller individuals, with 6 levels of horizontal adjustment and 10 vertical levels to choose from. Then there’s the tailored handlebar height with 6 levels vertical to suit each individual’s preference.

Don’t forget the 3 crank pedals

Investing in stable equipment that you can rely on adds to your riding experience. The pedals on the IC300 PRO have been designed with adjustable straps and buckles to ensure your feet are securely in place before you start your workout. Paired with clever 3 crank pedal technology, you are guaranteed a solid and stable ride no matter how fast you want to ride.

The additional built-in toe cages ensure zero slipping even during intense workouts. Just watch out for the pointy ends – they are a bit uncomfortable on longer standing rides!

Final verdict

This mid-range bike comes with all the bells and whistles you can expect from high-end fitness equipment. Matched with its striking, sturdy design, nothing will stop your fitness progress.

Despite its minor flaws – the pointy toe cages and lack of visible resistance indicator, the JLL IC300 PRO is a worthwhile investment. Not to mention its incredible versatility, this extraordinary piece of kit should be in your basket already! What are you waiting for?
