Week One

Drop a Dress Size Diary - Week One

Meet the Good Vibes gals who are starting the Drop a Dress Size course on Monday 7th January. Here we are at the top of the page, pre-Christmas looking forward to a few weeks of merry making - all of us are DREADING putting our vital stats up on the web for all to see. Our Diary will be updated every Monday so do keep checking in to find out how we are all getting on. We are:

Nahid 'Kim Cattrall' de Belgeonne,"I'm at least 15 years older than the rest of the dropping a dress size gang and demand soft focus!"

I want to be tight and firm so that you can bounce pennies off my rump. I've always been slim but as you get older you do have to work harder at it. Every time you are naughty, the morning after effects hang around you like a big mouthed friend with a loud hailer.

I do like to party like it's 1999 - that's always been my downfall. The booze starts becoming a too regular occurrence and with that comes the bad food choices and I don't get enough sleep. I sometimes teeter between healthy and slobby. I want to clean up and feel on top of the world all the time. I work really long hours and need to be as healthy as possible to be able to do my life at the pace I want.

If I am totally honest, however, I am doing it to look good in my clothes. In particular a 1970's Bill Gibbs leather jacket and skirt that is cut very tight. The exercise part of the program isn't too much of a problem for me - I own Good Vibes after all - and I love running and yoga. What this course will do is to make me stick to a regular cardio regime regardless of all the pressures of work ( did I say I am totally obsessive..?) and it will force me to stop and think about what I put in my mouth. I love veg and fruit but stress can make you do funny things and it makes me egg mayonnaise sandwiches for breakfast.

Discipline is what I need and there's no better encouragement than declaring your vital stats for the world to see. Svelte, here I come!

I’m doing the Drop a Dress Size course to be firmer fitter and tighter in the New Year. My motivation is a tiny Missoni bikini and a vintage car rally in Italy with lots of glamorous Europeans! I’m also hoping the sessions and lifestyle changes will make me stronger so I’m better at steering the heavy vintage cars and can compete with the boys! Apart from that the part of my body that I most want to tone is my wine-belly. My legs are alright (even if I do say so) but a bit of extra sculpting can only help!

I think I can just about muster enough will power to eat healthily, although I always seem to miss breakfast. What I’m not so good at is the exercise part. In fact I haven’t set foot in a gym for over a year, but I do try to walk most places. My other major weakness is the booze (no surprises there!). Not just how much I drink but also the hangover food that follows a night out – I love a bit of comfort eating. So, lots of words of encouragement to keep me on the straight and narrow please!

Here’s hoping for a smaller and more perfectly formed me!

I am on the course to help motivating our existing clients to achieve the result alongside me and to help me achieve my goal.

I want to start 2008 with a target and a goal to lose those extra inches from the Christmas period.

I have always played at premiership football and since my injury I have really struggled to get back to the fitness level I need to be at so this course will give me the kick start I need.

I find it hard to adhere to any program if it not part of a team, so keeping disciplined for 10 weeks might be tough for me. But being part of the program and the guidance I will receive will help me with this problem.

I love toast, but eat way to much white bread and snacks like crisps. I don't plan my meals, I need to cook more and take food to work with me and not spend money on a quick sandwich in cafe because its easy!

My strengths are on the cardio front, once I start I find I gain results quite quickly. I drink lots of water every day, I eat lots of

fruit and veg and I always eat breakfast!

I suppose my problem areas are my tummy and my thighs.
I would lurve to be a size 10. I want to drop a dress size to basically lose my body inhibitions; to go shopping and be confident that I can wear a lot of things and I don't have to disguise/hide certain areas. I want to be body confident in and out clothes. I want to get bikini ready well before the summer, and also to keep it up.
I'm going to try my extreme best to follow the bible as it's a great opportunity to get healthy, and I've got a real incentive not to slack, what with this blog and all.

I have intentions of incorporating swimming into my schedule, however i might have to do this further down the course when the effects of the plate have begin to show and I'm a bit more bikini ready! So it will be running in the park until then.

My downfall is usually lack of exercise; it's often difficult to find the time, comfort meals at the end of a long day, and red wine...and the post-night out snacking.

So...gloves off, forks down, we are here to drop a dress size starting on the 7th January and won't stop 'till our old clothes fall off! Yay!
